Rochana Norby, MBA

Rochana Norby is a Partner with the FMA Group and mother of three. She has over thirty years of experience in helping people discover and achieve their financial goals. As a fierce advocate for our clients and extremely knowledgeable in the tools of financial planning and wealth management, she develops creative strategies for building wealth and engaging effectively to address all the needs of our clients.

Rochana is a Registered Representative with Securities America, Inc., and is an Investment Adviser Representative with Securities America Advisors, Inc. She has won many top producer awards in her field. She holds an MBA in International Finance from the American Graduate School of International Management as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry and a post-graduate degree in Library Science, graduating from each of her classes with top honors.

Prior to The FMA Group, Rochana worked in several financial management positions with the General Electric Company. She eventually left General Electric to start her own financial consulting company. General Electric was her first client and an ongoing client for many years. In addition, she worked with many local corporations to enhance their financial situations and increase their profits. In addition to teaching courses at the Institute of CPAs, Rochana has given seminars and courses at the University of Pennsylvania's Advanced Technology Center, Villanova University, and Penn State University.

In 1987 Rochana began using the same money awareness techniques with individuals, professionals, and small businesses in the local area. Now she and her husband Richard co-own the FMA Group providing financial services and advice with great enjoyment and devotion to their family of clients.

Richard Norby

Richard Norby is a Partner of the FMA Group and father of three. He has over twenty-five years of professional and management experience and is currently the firm's Chief Investment Officer, working with our client's money and making and implementing strategic investment and allocation recommendations. Richard quietly manages the real-time, personalized execution of the allocation strategy and portfolio growth in service to our clients' financial plans.

Richard is registered as a Principal with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Inc. and is a Registered Investment Advisor Representative. He takes great pleasure in researching current investment options and enjoys keeping up with the latest market and economic trends.

Prior to the FMA Group, Richard spent over four years as head of operations for the Hawaii branch of a national non-profit organization. His extensive experience in financial investing began in 1986 when he worked with a successful group of option market makers on the Philadelphia Stock Exchange, where he began to crystallize the investment philosophy that guides us to this day. Eventually, he left the stock exchange to work with Rochana serving local corporations as their Chief Financial Officer and tax strategist to enhance their financial situations and increase their profits, as well as handling investments.

Richard has served in such diverse areas as real estate development, accounting, tax planning, investment planning, mortgage services, title insurance, and property and casualty insurance. This wide range of expertise and knowledge offers the ideal complement to Rochana and Shubhra's ability to create comprehensive, practical solutions for our clients.

Shubhra Wells, MBA, MEd

Shubhra Wells is an Advisor at the FMA Group, mother of three, and daughter of Rochana and Richard. Shubhra's expertise in financial planning and consulting approach enable her to engage holistically with our clients to provide dynamic, workable solutions and education to help them clarify their goals and create a plan. She meets regularly with our clients and brings to bear the full breadth of FMA's experience and knowledge in service to our clients.

Shubhra is a Registered Representative with Securities America, Inc., and is an Investment Adviser Representative with Securities America Advisors, Inc. She holds an MBA in Business Performance and Leadership, a Masters in Education from Pennsylvania State University, attaining 4.0 CGPA in both degrees, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications, with a Certificate in Computer-Based Information Systems, from McGill University, graduating from each of her programs with top honors.

Prior to The FMA Group, Shubhra worked as a consultant for larger multinational businesses and non-profits, focusing on strategic change and executive development, often working one-on-one with top leaders in the C-suite.  She also worked with local businesses to help them streamline and increase profitability through finance, accounting, marketing, and technology. She developed Masters' level statistics classes at Pennsylvania State University, putting numbers into a strategic context for those looking to make smarter, evidence-based decisions.

In 2015, Shubhra joined the FMA Group, bringing with her experience of a twenty-plus year career, as well as a love of teaching and numbers. She has given seminars to High Net Worth and High-Income Earners and provides education and guidance to our clients about retirement and income maximization, career planning, social security optimization, cash flow planning, college planning, identity fraud, taxation, and more.

She loves working with the complexity and unique needs of our clients, learning and researching the nuances of each situation. Now, together with Rochana and Richard, Shubhra makes sure our clients continue to experience the same high standard of care as our family of clients grows.

Denise Slawter, BA

Denise Slawter handles Client Services at the FMA Group and is the proud mother of three. As an insurance professional and notary, with over seventeen years taking care of our clients, Denise is an unmatched advocate for them– our clients say “she is a force.” Denise genuinely enjoys serving our clients with warmth, diligence, and knowledge built on years of experience across all areas our work touches.

Prior to joining the FMA Group, Denise was a creative director for a New York design firm specializing in textile design. She also provided early childhood and art education and continues to offer her time as a volunteer in many ways. Denise is active in her church and community. She is an accomplished artist and gardener and has exhibited at the Philadelphia Flower Show.

She thrives on the relationships she builds with our clients, knowing she is serving them for their benefit and well-being. She is a caregiver, first and foremost, and as versatile in her knowledge and ability to support our clients as our advisors are in their roles.
